Bruce Saltzman, MD – Board-Certified Anesthesiologist

Dr. Bruce Saltzman, MD is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and provides clinical leadership at Better Health Whole Wellness Center, bringing more than 40 years of clinical experience to the field. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University), he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Miami and went on to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology there. He has worked extensively with ketamine throughout his career in both hospital and outpatient settings. As an attending anesthesiologist, he oversees all safety standards, clinical protocols, and treatment administration for IV ketamine therapy and Spravato® (esketamine) at Better Health Whole Wellness Center.

Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Kait McDermott – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care & Infusion NP

Kait McDermott is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner holding certifications in both Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC) and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC), bringing a rare combination of psychiatric expertise and critical care experience to ketamine therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) at Better Health Whole Wellness Center. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences and has built a clinical career spanning intensive care, palliative care, forensic nursing, and ketamine-assisted treatment. She also holds a Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies & Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies and has served as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, a hospice care provider, and a critical care instructor — reflecting a depth of clinical experience that spans some of the most demanding environments in medicine. Kait is known for her calm, trauma-informed presence and her ability to create a safe, supportive environment for patients navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Katie Olmstead, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Katherine Olmstead is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with advanced training from Thomas Jefferson University and a background in psychology from Temple University — a combination that makes her especially well-suited for the whole-person care that ketamine therapy requires. Her experience across family practice, university health systems, and walk-in settings has given her a strong foundation in comprehensive, patient-centered care, and she brings that same thoughtful approach to every session at Better Health Whole Wellness Center. Katherine also serves as adjunct faculty at Thomas Jefferson University, reflecting her ongoing commitment to evidence-based practice and excellence in patient care.

Rachel Kent, PA-C – Physician Assistant, Emergency Medicine & Critical Care Background

Rachel Kent, PA-C is a nationally certified and state-licensed Physician Assistant with a strong background in emergency medicine and critical care, bringing a safety-first, detail-oriented approach to IV ketamine therapy and Spravato® (esketamine) treatment at Better Health Whole Wellness Center. She provides evidence-based, trauma-informed care for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain, and is known for her calm presence, thorough assessments, and ability to create a supportive environment where patients feel safe and understood.

Dr. Courtney Liggera, PsyD – Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Courtney Liggera, PsyD is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of clinical experience, specializing in helping patients navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional barriers that impact daily functioning. She provides evidence-based psychotherapy and creates a supportive, grounded environment where patients can safely explore their experiences and build healthier patterns. Dr. Liggera also offers therapy specifically designed to complement IV ketamine therapy and Spravato® (esketamine) treatment at Better Health Whole Wellness Center — helping patients integrate insights, process emotions, and strengthen the therapeutic benefits of ketamine-assisted care across the Philadelphia area.
